Social Media

Social Media:

Definitions: "Forms of electronic communication through which users create online communities to share information, ideas, personal messages, and other content" (Merriam-Webster). Although this definition is pulled straight from the dictionary, it also is a good definition of the way we would define social media in our course and how it is used in the reading.

Example: Social Media is found everywhere, from Facebook to Twitter, to blog post and podcasts, this form of media has become essential to the way we as human beings connect with other human beings.

From the Text: "It is grounded on an interactionist approach that considers organized collective action as a social construct with communicative action at its core," (Milan 887).
