Precis

Don B. Kates and Gary Mauser wrote “Would Banning Firearms Reduce Murder and Suicide?”; they elaborate on the reasons why banning firearms with gun control will not work, it’s a fallacy.  The argument in this study is created first by providing common “false assertions” about America's crime rates in correlation to guns, and it shows how they are wrong through statistics and facts.  The purpose of this study is to educate the reader in these matters and to show them how gun control is not the answer to stopping crime in America.  This paper is written to an audience of three different types, the anti-gun control advocates, the pro-gun control advocates, and the people who don't know what side to pick.
