Who/What: This image titled "Coke vs. Banksy" is an art piece created by Karina Nurdinova, an artist from Italy. The piece itself includes a quote regarding advertising practices from the infamous street artist Banksy, who is well known for voicing his political and social opinions through his art work.

Where/When: Everywhere with access to the Internet. The piece itself wasn't painted on the side of a building like a typical Banksy piece. Rather, it seems that this piece spread across websites like Reddit and Pinterest after Nurdinova created it in 2012 (Behance).

Why: This image acts as a form of protest against advertisements in modern culture. The artist used an advertisement to capture our attention, and then upon closer examination asks us to question why we looked in the first place. This image specifically evokes thoughts of Coca-Cola and speaks volumes about the impact of advertising and the art of subliminal messaging.

Identities: This image signifies a protest for those who identify as recipients of advertising.
Pop ups, billboards, commercials, product placements, and other forms of advertising affect individuals with access to technology in modern societies. With this in mind, Banksy's quote and Nurdinova's art piece represent the collective identity of anyone who see's advertisements regularly.
