What/Who: This image depicted above was a famous picture that was taken during the Vietnam War of a Vietnamese woman taking an American Pilot captive after his plane was shot down. The image was circulated as a stamp and reached thousands of Vietnamese.

Why: In an attempt to raise morale during the Vietnam War, Vietnamese journalists and photographers took wartime photos depicting everyday Vietnamese citizens rising above their normal expectations and taking war time initiatives. The above image are particularly effective in that it depicts a small Vietnamese woman in control of a larger, heavy built man wearing an American Pilot's outfit.
