Definition: Corporations using their bounty of economic power to influence and control other areas of public life.
Example: Schools and parks are often named after whoever donated the most to its being built.
Villanova Law School is being named after Charles Widger, effective 2016, after his $25 million donation.
From the text: The authors argue that there's is overwhelming corporate presence in everything ranging from environmental policy (having lobbyists keeps from strict environmental s rules from passing) down to what we assume is the pure pursuit of knowledge: scientific research, The topic of research projects can sometimes be at the discretion of whoever funds them (184).
