Who/What: Most of the N.B.A. players in particular the Los Angeles Clippers, began to join in on a "silent" protest against the owner of the Los Angeles Clippers Donald Sterling, who is caucasian. During the "silent" protest the players ran out onto the court to warm up and before taking a shot, all of the players threw their warm up cloths that were issued by the team in the middle of the court and turned their outer shirts inside out so that the Clippers logo was to be hidden. The players also wore black headbands and arm bands to contribute to their "silent" protest.
Where: Staples Center, Los Angeles, California
When: April 2014; Game 4 of the 2014 NBA Playoffs
Why: The protest was in regard to Mr. Sterling saying to his then girlfriend about Magic Johnson an African-American and Laker legend, "...don't bring him to my games". He also says in the confrontation with his girlfriend that she shouldn't be seen with black people in public.
The players formed a unity to identify with not only African-Americans that play in the N.B.A but also against anyone who possesses raciest ethics. The color of the wrist and arm bands were black which symbolized who was being attached.
