Multinational Corporation is often used as a synonym to transnational corporation, and this comic depicts the way transnational corporations gain power by transcending many borders.

From the text- in From Public Sphere to Public Screen DeLuca and Peeples’ argue that due to transnational corporations immense amount of money and standing in countries around the world they have influence everywhere, including the government. DeLuca and Peeples include a quote in their article that states transnational corporations are “clearly the dominant political, social, economic, and environmental forces on the planet, eclipsing the nation-state” (DeLuca). Examples of transnational corporations included in the article are Starbucks, Nike, and McDonald’s (DeLuca).
