What: This object is a video chronicling the protest of SB 1062, a controversial bill from the state of Arizona which allowed business to refuse service on the basis of religious beliefs. In the protest, signs such as "1962 called and it wants it's hate back!" and "SB 1062...Hateful Bigotry" are clearly visible, as well as chants of "veto".
Where: This particular protest took place in Arizona, the state where the bill was passed.
When: This protest took place in 2014.
Why: The bill was seen separate ways by different groups of people. Some argued for it's passage, claiming it as an "religious freedom" bill, as their are religions that do not believe in gay marriage, while others called for it's immediate veto by Governor Jan Brewer, calling it discrimination because it would have affected gay couples who wanted to do shopping for their weddings. The bill was eventually vetoed by Jan Brewer, who was pressured by both conservatives and liberals to not sign the bill.
